Saturday 24th—Sunday 25th June and Saturday 1st—Sunday 2nd July 2023 Oaks Park Studios is one of the locations of the very popular Carshalton Artists Open Studios. The studios, which are unique in south-west London, are set in the beautiful surroundings of Oaks Park, to the south of Carshalton Beeches in the London Borough of Sutton. They are an imaginative use of the old stables, once part of the estate of the Earl of Derby, who was of historic importance to horse racing at nearby Epsom. They are now occupied by a group of visual artists whose practice includes painting, sculpture, stained glass, printmaking and puppetry, with the recent addition of Oaks Park Printmakers, a cooperative print studio with twelve members. Every summer the group holds Open Weekends when visitors can meet and talk to the artists, watch demonstrations and view and buy original art works in the very place where they are made.
Free printmaking demonstrations For CAOS 2020 Simon Burder made an online demonstration of stone lithography. Hopefully this year there will be live lithography demonstrations, as well as demonstrations of other printmaking techniques in the Oaks Park Printmakers studio.
