Oaks Park Studios Annual Summer Open Weekend |

WHAT? The studios, which are unique in south-west London, are set in the beautiful surroundings of Oaks Park, to the south of Carshalton Beeches in the London Borough of Sutton. They are an imaginative use of the old stables, once part of the estate of the Earl of Derby, who was of historic importance to horse racing at nearby Epsom. They are now occupied by a group of visual artists whose practice includes painting, sculpture, stained glass, printmaking and puppetry. Every summer the group hold an Open Weekend when visitors can meet and talk to the artists and view and buy original art works in the very place where they are made. Last year the weekend featured demonstrations of stone lithography and shadow puppet theatre.
