EARLY WORK "Inspired from an early stage by the lithographs of Toulouse-Lautrec, Bonnard and Vuillard, I viewed printmaking as both a democratic and accessible art form as well as a way of organising how I work, through the limitations of its discipline. My subjects were figurative: skilled craftspeople at work in a bakery, a pottery, a printing works or on a farm; and people relaxing together in a pub or café, playing chess or dancing in the street, or travelling on the train or metro. My main interests were human relations and a celebration of the sense of satisfaction gained from honest work."
